Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using Arena Marketplace.

Welcome to Arena Marketplace. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Arena's website, mobile applications, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Arena Marketplace ("Arena," "we," "us," or "our") provides an online platform connecting buyers with fashion vendors across Nigeria. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Arena.

1. Account Registration

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration
  • One person or business may not maintain multiple accounts
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

2. Buying on Arena

  • All purchases are subject to product availability
  • Prices are displayed in Nigerian Naira (NGN) and are subject to change
  • You agree to pay for all items ordered, including applicable shipping fees
  • Orders may be cancelled if products are unavailable or pricing errors occur
  • Product images are for illustration purposes; actual products may vary slightly

3. Selling on Arena (Vendors)

  • Vendors must provide accurate product descriptions and images
  • Vendors are responsible for the quality and authenticity of their products
  • Vendors must fulfill orders within the specified timeframe
  • Prohibited items include counterfeit goods, illegal items, and regulated substances
  • Arena charges commission fees as outlined in the vendor agreement
  • Vendors must comply with all applicable Nigerian laws and regulations

4. Payments

  • We accept payments through Paystack and other approved payment providers
  • All payment information is processed securely and encrypted
  • Refunds are processed according to our refund policy
  • Vendor payouts are processed according to the payout schedule
  • Arena is not responsible for payment processing fees charged by third parties

5. Shipping & Delivery

  • Delivery times are estimates and may vary based on location and logistics
  • Shipping costs are calculated based on delivery location and package specifications
  • Risk of loss transfers to the buyer upon delivery
  • Buyers must inspect packages upon delivery and report damages immediately
  • Arena partners with third-party logistics providers for delivery services

6. Returns & Refunds

  • Items may be returned within 7 days of delivery if defective or not as described
  • Buyers must initiate returns through the Arena platform
  • Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days after return approval
  • Some items may not be eligible for returns (e.g., customized products)
  • Shipping costs for returns may be borne by the buyer or vendor depending on the reason

7. Intellectual Property

All content on Arena, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Arena or its content suppliers and is protected by Nigerian and international copyright laws.

  • You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without permission
  • Vendors retain ownership of their product images and descriptions
  • By uploading content, you grant Arena a license to use it for platform operations
  • Report intellectual property violations to [email protected]

8. Social Media Integration

Arena offers integration with Instagram and Facebook for vendors. By connecting your social media accounts:

  • You authorize Arena to access your business profile and media content
  • You may import products from your Instagram/Facebook posts
  • You can manage customer messages through Arena's unified inbox
  • You can disconnect your accounts at any time from your Arena settings
  • Arena's use of your social media data is governed by our Privacy Policy

Your use of Instagram and Facebook through Arena is also subject to their respective terms of service.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Arena is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific transaction
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Arena acts as a marketplace and is not responsible for vendor conduct

10. Dispute Resolution

We encourage resolution of disputes through our platform first:

  • Contact our customer support team for assistance with disputes
  • We offer mediation services for buyer-vendor disagreements
  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
  • Any legal proceedings shall be conducted in courts located in Nigeria

11. Termination

Arena reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may also terminate your account at any time by contacting our support team. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease, though certain provisions of these Terms will survive termination.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
